Denon DJ PRIME 4 G2 – The Next Generation of Standalone DJ Performance

The Denon DJ PRIME 4 G2 is far more than an updated version of one of the most successful standalone DJ systems. It is a professional 4-channel, 4-deck DJ workstation designed for performers who want a complete, creative and uncompromising setup without relying on a laptop.

The foundations that made the PRIME 4 so popular are still here, but the G2 generation takes the concept considerably further. Real-time Stems control, next-generation MPCe performance pads, full-size 8-inch jog wheels, an expanded effects architecture, music streaming, Bluetooth audio and direct DMX lighting control are now brought together in one powerful professional system.

The PRIME 4 G2 delivers true 4-deck standalone performance. Your music can come from USB drives, SD cards, an internally installed storage drive or directly from supported streaming services.

At the heart of the system is a large 10.1-inch HD multi-touch display, providing fast and intuitive access to your music library, waveforms, effects and performance features.

Built-in Wi-Fi provides access to streaming platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, Beatport, TIDAL and SoundCloud GO+, with the appropriate subscription. Spotify support is also announced as coming soon.

Stems – Separate the Track and Create Something New

One of the most exciting additions to the PRIME 4 G2 is its integrated Stems functionality.

The system can separate elements of a track, giving you instant access to Acapella and Instrumental parts. Stems Pad Mode and Stem Level EQ provide even deeper control and open up entirely new creative possibilities.

This goes far beyond simply mixing one track into another. Take a vocal from one song and layer it over another, combine instrumental sections, build live mashups and completely rethink familiar tracks – directly from the PRIME 4 G2.

MPCe Performance Pads – One Pad, Multiple Dimensions

The PRIME 4 G2 introduces the industry’s first MPC-style multi-zone MPCe performance pads.

Its 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads use 3D sensing technology, allowing different areas and gestures on a single pad to control multiple functions or parameters.

Hot Cues, effects, Stems functions and even lighting control can become part of the performance itself.

The performance pad is no longer simply a button – it becomes an instrument in the DJ’s hands.

Full-Size 8-Inch Jog Wheels

The PRIME 4 G2 features two full-size 8-inch high-resolution jog wheels, providing the space and precision needed for accurate, natural control.

The jog wheels also provide visual feedback, including Stem status and Cue position indicators, helping you keep important performance information exactly where you need it.

A Serious Effects Engine

The PRIME 4 G2 comes equipped with an extensive collection of creative performance effects.

Two dynamic Main FX modules provide access to more than 25 effects, complemented by 10 Touch FX, Fader FX and dedicated Sweep FX controls on each mixer channel.

Favorite FX buttons give you instant access to the effects you use most, so there is no need to search through menus in the middle of a set.

The PRIME 4 G2 Can Control Your Lighting Too

This is where things become particularly interesting.

The PRIME 4 G2 features an integrated, isolated DMX interface. Powered by SoundSwitch and Engine Lighting, compatible DMX lighting systems can be controlled directly from the DJ system without requiring additional DMX hardware.

The integrated interface supports one DMX universe with 512 channels, while compatible external interfaces can expand the system to two universes.

The PRIME 4 G2 also supports Philips Hue and Nanoleaf smart lighting systems.

In other words, the DJ can control not only what the audience hears, but also how the show looks.

Bluetooth Deck – Your Phone Becomes Another Audio Source

Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity is much more than a convenient wireless extra.

Bluetooth Deck allows audio from smartphones and tablets to be brought directly into the system, controlled and mixed alongside your other sources.

It is an extremely practical solution for background music, guest requests or any situation where an external audio source needs to be brought into the mix quickly.

Professional Sound with ESS Sabre DACs

The PRIME 4 G2 uses ESS ES9017S 32-bit DAC conversion, with the balanced main outputs offering a dynamic range of up to 119 dB A-weighted.

Dedicated Zone Output – One DJ System, Two Areas

Install a compatible internal drive and your entire music library can live inside the PRIME 4 G2 itself, reducing the need to rely on external USB drives.

Two Microphones, Instrument Input and Professional Connectivity

The PRIME 4 G2 features two combination XLR/jack microphone inputs with 3-band EQ, Echo and Reverb effects, Talkover and Anti-Feedback functionality.

The second microphone input can also be used for an instrument or other audio source, while mixer channels 3 and 4 provide Line/Phono RCA inputs.

Turntables, external players, microphones and additional audio sources can therefore be integrated easily into a single professional setup.

Standalone or Computer? Why Choose?

The PRIME 4 G2 is first and foremost a powerful standalone system, but that does not mean computer-based DJ workflows are left behind.

Upcoming OmniSource support is designed to provide even greater freedom between the standalone Engine environment and compatible computer DJ software, with planned support including Serato, Algoriddim and VirtualDJ.
